Go West

The fantastic Western Plains Cultural Centre at Dubbo has long been a popular gallery for Object’s touring exhibitions, and the latest that I am up here installing this week is Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels exhibition; the eighth in our Living Treasures series.

It is exciting to see how quickly crates, pallets of boxes and piles of legs can turn into a beautiful display.

The team here, led by Kent and Caroline (who originally worked with Object before re-locating to this mid-west NSW city) are an enthusiastic group who always make sure our installs run smoothly.

The gallery has fully embraced the show; painting their walls in the beautiful soft grey of the furnitue with an addition of our bright lichen orange for the feature wall. It will look spectacular.

Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels will sit alongside another 3 diverse shows in the gallery’s large space featuring works from the Western Desert, a banquet made entirely out of salt, and more.

Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through this way. Or why not come up for a weekend. There is so much to do out here this time of the year!

Or the Western Plains Cultural Centre website for more details, or follow them on Facebook for more updates about events happening for Lola Greeno: Cultural Jewels, including artists talks, workshops, and community meetings.
